Abstract:
The test plan was developed by Tolly engineers over several years and in conjunction with major WAN optimization technology vendors.
The test plan provides guidance on setting up a simulated WAN lab environment and running tests to benchmark the effectiveness of a WAN optimization solution in improving the end-user experience when access central-site files from a remote office location via Web (HTTP), file transfer (FTP) or via a network share (CIFS v1 and CIFS v2).
Over the years, this test plan has been used to benchmark devices from RIverbed, Ipanema, Expand and others.
