Abstract

Sun Microsystems, Inc. commissioned The Tolly Group to evaluate its SunATM OC-12 adapter version 4.0.1 against Marconi plc’s (formerly FORE Systems, Inc.) ForeRunnerHE 622 OC-12 adapter. Classical IP server-to-switch, and server-to-server, throughput was measured in bidirectional tests of 8,192-byte TTCP packets of both NICs. In addition, LANE server-to-switch throughput was measured for 1,518-, 4,096- and 8,192-byte TTCP packets.
