Abstract

Start Network Technology Co., Ltd. commissioned The Tolly Group to evaluate its STAR-S1824 24-port Fast Ethernet switch. Engineers tested the STAR-S1824 for Layer 2 bidirectional throughput using 64-, 512- and 1,518-byte packets in full-mesh configurations. The Tolly Group conducted similar tests of Layer 2 unidirectional throughput with the same size packets in partial-mesh configurations and bidirectional throughput in a non-mesh configuration. Additionally, engineers measured the unicast and broadcast latency of the STAR-S1824 when testing all three packet sizes.
