Abstract

Hubbell Premise Wiring comissioned The Tolly Group to evaluate its SPEEDGAIN Category 5e System and NEXTSPEED 670 Category 6 System connectivity products (jack, patch panels and cross-connects) with LANmark-350 Category 5e and LANmark-1000 Category 6 Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP) copper cables from Nexans (formerly Alcatel), one of Hubbell’s approved Mission Critical Warranty partners. Tests included traditional passive/static performance measurements, such as Attenuation-to-Crosstalk ratio, Near-End Crosstalk and Return Loss; and dynamic active tests that measure actual bit error rates and cyclical redundancy checksum measurements, including basic link tests of 30 meters and 90 meters and channel tests of 90 meters.
