• Wire-speed performance across rule and session scales. With 100 active firewall rules and up to 200,000 concurrent sessions, the appliance forwarded bidirectional traffic at full 2 Gb/s for 256-, 512-, 1,024-, and 1,518-byte frames, achieving 96% of theoretical bandwidth at 128-byte packets and 82% at 64-byte packets.

• ASIC acceleration for Check Point software. Results show that pairing Check Point FireWall-1 with Bivio’s eXpressLANE packet-processing ASICs “turbo-charges” software firewalls, delivering performance that surpasses many dedicated ASIC-based security systems while preserving full policy functionality.

These findings underscore the Bivio 1000’s ability to enforce extensive rule sets at session counts typical of carrier and large-enterprise environments without compromising gigabit throughput or incurring packet loss.
