Abstract
Matrixview, Inc. commissioned The Tolly Group to evaluate its SWISH Version 2.1, software that is unique in its ability to accelerate the transmission of dynamic and hybrid Web content.
The Tolly Group examined SWISH (which stands for Speeding Web Information and Search Hypertext) head-to-head against GZIP compression found in HTTP 1.1-based browsers to measure download times.
Tolly Group engineers measured the total time to download Web page files related to results returned by search engines such as AOL, Ask, Google, MSN, and Yahoo from a file cache on a proxy server to a requesting client PC. The Tolly Group also compared
the improvement in compression of SWISH versus GZIP. Tests were conducted in November 2007.
