Abstract

The S5720-SI series switches are next-generation standard gigabit Layer 3 Ethernet switches developed by Huawei, providing flexible gigabit access and GbE/10GbE uplink ports. Based on nextgeneration high-performance hardware and the Huawei Versatile Routing Platform (VRP), the S5720-SI switches provide flexible Ethernet features, Layer 3 routing capability, numerous security features and are easy to manage and maintain. The S5720-SI can be used as access or aggregation switches on campus networks or access switches in data centers.

Tolly engineers evaluated Huawei’s S5720-SI series switches in multiple areas including the OpenFlow 1.3 compliance, forwarding capability, capacity, long-distance and high performance stack, high availability, security, sFlow traffic statistics monitoring, Network Quality Analyzer (NQA), Zero Touch Provisioning, Super Virtual Fabric (SVF), and Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE) power saving.
