Abstract

Comparative lab test of 16Mbps Token Ring LAN adapters consisting of both micro-channel architecture (MCA) and industry-standard architecture (ISA) devices.

Vendors included 3Com, Digital Communications Associates (DCA), IBM, Madge Networks, Olicom, Proteon, Standard Microsystems Corp. (SMC), and Thomas-Conrad.

The IBM MCA card outperformed all others in tests of 4,096-byte frame sizes.
