Abstract

SMC commissioned Tolly to demonstrate the performance of the EliteSwitch ES/1, a multi-port Token Ring switch, versus traditional "backbone ring" configurations. Tests showed that replacing the backbone with an EliteSwitch ES1 and dedicated server rings increased the aggregate throughput by a factor of nearly three.
