IBM Corporation commissioned The Tolly Group to verify the effectiveness of IBM’s ISDN product set in providing both LAN-to-LAN connectivity and remote access to corporate resources. The Tolly Group deployed the IBM products in a number of configurations to demonstrate effective use of an ISDN BRI connection.

Findings

As the following scenarios indicate, the IBM products provide network managers with a variety of options for deploying ISDN to provide LAN-to-LAN connectivity and remote access to corporate resources. The IBM 2210 Nways Multiprotocol Router employs sophisticated backup and recovery systems that minimizes network down time from leased- line and frame-relay failures.
