Abstract

Intel Corporation commissioned The Tolly Group to evaluate the performance of the Intel Express 10/100 Fast Ethernet Switch and to verify features and functions of the product. The benchmarks described in this document are a subset of a wide range of tests that were conducted as part of The Tolly Group 1996/97 Ethernet Switching Industry Study. The test results discussed throughout this document demonstrate that the Express 10/100 Fast Ethernet Switch delivers high throughput and low latency, and provides a number of important features that allow network managers to maintain control of their networks.
