Abstract

3Com Corporation commissioned The Tolly Group to benchmark the Gigabit Ethernet switching performance of the Super- Stack® II Switch 9300. The Tolly Group conducted steady state throughput testing of up to 12 full duplex Gigabit Ethernet ports.

Testing also evaluated the performance of the SuperStack II Switch 9300 as it provided backbone connectivity between two Gigabit Ethernet uplinks, each one emanating from a SuperStack II Switch 3900. Other key performance metrics, such as congestion and latency tests, were also conducted on the SuperStack II Switch 9300.

Testing was performed in January 1998.
