Bay Networks commissioned The Tolly Group to conduct a head-to-head performance evaluation of its Accelar 1200 Routing Switch versus a Cisco Systems Catalyst 5500.

The objective was to benchmark the zero-loss layer 3 IP throughput and the latency of the switches.
