Abstract

Lucent Technologies commissioned The Tolly Group to evaluate the performance of its P550 Cajun Switch, a 12-port Gigabit Ethernet switch. The Tolly Group conducted layer 3 IP throughput and latency tests, and also checked for the presence of head-of-line blocking. Testing was performed in August 1998. Test results show that the P550 Cajun Switch delivers wire-speed throughput and low latency in all configurations tested, with and without access lists enabled. Additionally, the P550 Cajun Switch demonstrated no head-of-line blocking.
