Abstract

Lab test of "smart hubs" which preceded LAN switches in the market. This was the first public test of this technology. Testing was conducted in the latter part of 1992 by The Tolly Group.

The following products were tested: Cabletron Systems MMAC-8FNB, Chipcom Corp. Online 5017C, Lannet Data Communications LET-36, Optical Data Systems (ODS) ODS 295, Synoptics Communications Lattisnet Model 3000 Concentrator, and Ungermann-Bass (UB) Access/One ASE-3000.

Tester's Choice awards were given to both Cabletron and Synoptics.
